Kicking off the first SF Beer Week is the 9th annual Double IPA Festival, where the king of hops will be crowned. Over 60 beers will be on tap on Main St, along with many of their brewers. The SF Beer Week crew will be there to talk shop and drink beer. There will be professional judging, with an awards ceremony at 5pm. Be there for the kickoff toast, and stay for the live music and revelry all day!

Special guests include Sam Calagione of Dogfish Head, Vinnie Cilurzo of Russian River, Rob Tod of Allagash, Rich Norgrove from Bear Republic, and many, many more of the finest beer folks around.

The Bistro is a place that people can come and feel comfortable, enjoy fresh food and quench their thirst. Enjoy live music EVERY NIGHT of the week -- no cover charge. See our calendar for the schedule of artists playing.

The Bistro was opened by its current owners, Vic and Cynthia Kralj, in January 1994. The space went through a major face change in June of the same year. Formerly known as the Vintage Cellar Wine Shop, The Bistro soon established itself as a major Hop Spot and Music Venue in the East Bay. We proudly serve the community of Hayward with locally roasted coffee, fresh soups and sandwiches, fine wine and handcrafted ales and lagers.

This will be the 9th annual Double IPA Festival. The doors will open at 11:00 a.m. and the festival will continue throughout the day and into the evening.
